5/17/2022 Cactus Pete in Bloom

Cactus Pete is blooming in the backyard again. The first bloom appeared Sunday and two days later there are about a dozen. Pete started as a little cutting several years back that has really come to life in recent years. Pete now occupies a 2′ x 3′ area and this year I laid a brick wall around her to keep her from taking over the back yard.

5/15/2022 Spider Lily

I spotted a stand of these Spider Lilies in the water foul protection area of Bell Slough WMA today. Bright white and standing a foot or more high, they stand out.

5/13/2022 Geranium

My daughter, Sam, brought this geranium home from work a few days ago. Today it opened up in it’s full glory. I know it looks like I slid the red slider all the way to the right but I didn’t touch it. Just defocused the background, denoised it, and the flower did the rest.
